Moonlight at the Window

Tonight the moon is resting gently on the edge of my windowsill. Its light slips across the floor in a pale silver ribbon, just enough to make everything feel a little magical.

Sienna is asleep now. You can always tell by the way her breathing slows and softens, like the tide going out. I watched her for a moment before closing the door, promising her tomorrow would be another day of small adventures.

Nighttime is when my thoughts grow quiet too.

I think about the children who are tucked into their beds. Those who struggle to fall asleep, those who wish the dark away, and those who find comfort inside it. I think about the parents sitting beside them. The carers. The grandparents. All holding the world together in ways unseen.

If the moon could speak tonight, I think it would say:

You are doing enough.
Your love is felt.
Tomorrow will come.

So if you find yourself reading these words under the glow of a screen instead of the moon, I hope they find you like a whisper through the dark.

Sleep gently, little hearts.
