There have been moments of clarity, yes — but also plenty of moments of uncertainty. Times when I’ve wondered if I’m moving too slowly. Times when I’ve wondered if I’m moving too fast. Times when I’ve questioned whether I’m doing enough and other times when I’ve realised that sometimes enough is exactly enough.
They were slow afternoons.
Long walks that went nowhere in particular.
Stories that drifted, paused, and sometimes ended without a clear point.
Every story begins with a spark — a moment, a memory, or a question that refuses to leave you alone. For The Library of Forgotten Dreams, the spark was simple: What happens to the dreams we forget?
The muddy shoes left by the door.
The stories told twice because someone wasn’t ready for sleep.
The gentle wisdom that comes not from knowing everything — but from noticing.
When I write, I imagine a child and a grown-up sharing a story together.
Not rushing to finish the page.
Not looking for a lesson.
Just being there.
