Pip found his lantern glowing even though he hadn’t lit it. Snoozle fluttered close, curious and warm.

“It remembers,” Snoozle whispered. Lanterns in the Garden keep tiny pieces of yesterday’s brightness.

Pip held it gently. The glow felt warm, like a small memory resting in his hands.

He carried it through the hush, letting yesterday guide today.
